TITIT.

"Titit" is my nephew (my cousin's son), Gab's own way of saying Trick or Treat. He did his first Trick or Treat ever in my sister's school, Gymboree, so he went around Bonifacio High Street and Serendra with other kids, too. Of course, being the supportive family that we are, my cousins and I went with him.

And thus, my outfit.

Hello Kitty top: Thrifted (Which is another way of saying, Greenhills)
Dark floral leggings: SHUCKS I DON'T REMEMBER (To be updated lol)
Boots: Doc Martens
Canvas bag: Primark
Black rubber bracelet: POP! Culture

P.S. Thanks to my cousin Kandy for taking the photos!
P.P.S. Excuse my fez in the second photo. I just HAD to edit it out!

My parents went to the UK last September and got me my Doc Martens! Still can't believe I own a pair and I still stare at them in amazement in my room once in awhile. They're not even kept with my other shoes in my dusty shoe shelf. Haha! I wore them for the first time last Saturday because it was the first time I felt that they were fit for the occasion. Actually, thank goodness for fashion week 'cause I'll be wearing them often this week!

Gab went as a cute ghost, by the way:

Hopefully this week I'll have time to take outfit photos. As usual, I'll be updating you about PFW through Twitter and stuff. I'll be starting tomorrow, instead of today though. Shame.

Here's the schedule for Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012!

I'll see you at SMX, yes?

How Terribly Gallant of You

I type this as I sit on the edge of my bed, in front of my closet. I'm supposed to leave for school in an hour and a half but I have nothing in my travel bag yet. I'm going on a two-day-one-night retreat today with the rest of the block so I'm supposed to be bringing clothes. I don't know why, but I don't have to energy to pack or even get ready for this! I actually love packing, no idea why I'm so lazy right now.

Anyway! Last Sunday, I went out with my family for our usual Sunday outings. We went to Kamuning to buy fabric for dad's new coat or something and then I finally bought my own white cloth that I'll be using as a background for some of my photos! We went to SM North-EDSA after that and drank Gong Cha, went a little shopping then ate in Army Navy. Ahhh! So much "food blog backlog"!

But, here's what I wore for now!

Top: Forever 21
Belt: Mom's
Shorts: Landmark, TriNoma
Flats: Crocs
Necklace: Forever 21
Peace bracelet: Greenhills
Black bracelets: POP! Culture

This is the first time ever since I was a kid that I had my shirt tucked in. I've just been scared of not looking good in it when the trend start it. Thankfully though I think it looks okay! Well, what do you think? Haha!

Okay, I really have to go and finish getting things ready now. Bye, friends!

Food blog: Carbonara and Red Velvet Cupcakes

Yesterday night was quite eventful for me. My parents are still in China and my sister had a sleepover at her high school friend's condo so I was all alone last night. Perfect timing 'cause my friend Ana and I have been wanting to hang and shoot for a very long time now so since we were running late, we decided to just cook and bake the night away! According to her, there was massive traffic on her way to my house from the South so I had a lot of time to spare:

Plaid polo: Old Navy
Denim shorts: Landmark, Trinoma
Slippers: Havaianas

I really wanted to do an outfit of the night/day thing but no one was here to take my photo and our helper wasn't getting the hang of the camera, but I really loved my get-up yesterday. Haha!

So around 8 in the evening, Ana and her guy Migs finally picked me up from the house and we headed to the grocery to buy some ingredients that we lacked then to Hannah's house 'cause we didn't have cupcake cups then finallehhh Ana's house!

We cooked the Carbonara first 'cause it was almost 9:30 and we still haven't eaten dinner. I chopped mushrooms, she cooked the sauce (it was actually the instant Del Monte Carbonara sauce, but she had to add some stuff) then we put it all together with the pasta and it was awesome. It was really yummy, we couldn't believe it. Haha!

After that, we finally started baking and that was already around 10PM. It was all good 'cause we were having fun and I didn't care much for the time.

I don't think anyone has buttermilk so thankfully Red Velvet Cupcake recipes always include the alternative: Lemon/distilled white vinegar then add milk 'til it gets to one cup then let it sit for five minutes. It was perfect! We used lemon since the thought of vinegar with milk was not sounding too good for us than the lemon with milk. While we were adding it into the batter, we were scared 'cause they were forming chunks but I guess it was from the lemon.

Funny story: Like I said, we had to pass by my friend Hannah's house to get cupcake cups. We went to the grocery before that and the grocery only had those mini cups. We only got 25 cups from Hannah so we had to settle for these mini cups. Aren't they super cute though???

Unfortunately, I didn't get to take photos of the cupcakes with the icing 'cause I was the one who applied the frosting. The frosting was really good, too! Cream Cheese frosting is definitely the one that makes the Red Velvet Cupcakes perfect. Here are Ana's shots though:

From Ana's iPhone! This was the first cupcake I put icing on.
I put a heart 'cause Ana was giving it to Migs.

Either Ana or Migs took this shot, haha!

The cupcakes were amazing and I'm so proud of ourselves. We've been friends for a little over five years and this is the first time we actually ate something that we successfully cooked and baked! Haha! We're so proud. We're thinking of doing rainbow cupcakes soon, I'll update you guys.

Thanks for the awesome night, Ana and Migs! :)

She Smiles To Make Me Happy

I still have like four drafts saved here but I keep on pushing them off the pile or forgetting... Or choosing to forget. Heeeeeh. Here's an outfit post though. I don't even know why I'm posting this at past midnight when I know most of you are already asleep or maybe insomniacs like me.

Gray dress: Forever 21+
Shoes: Rue de CMG (for P799!!!)
Hair and make-up: Buff and Polish (neighborhood parlor)
Clutch: Gift from my parents

Wore this to Hannah's debut last Friday at Manila Hotel. She wanted us girls to wear something that isn't black but sparkly and this is the only dress I could find that I found close to the theme. Forever 21 saved me yet again, lol.

By the way, don't you just love the price of my shoes? I went to Trinoma last Wednesday to buy shoes 'cause the pair I was supposed to use broke and Mr. Quickie said he couldn't fix it. So I went shopping alone and was very happy to see Rue de CMG's sale: P999 for 2 pairs and P799 for one pair. I wanted to buy another one, believe me. But after trying on around six to seven pairs, I gave up and left. They didn't even want to let go of me, haha! I think they're still having the sale right now, 'til May 31 (tomorrow) so go, go, go!!!

I'm not promising but I'm going to try to post at least two or three of the entries I have saved later today (May 30). Or maybe I should promise so I do it... Okay, I promise. Good night!
