It's Been A Long Time Since I've Been Around

I've got Lady Gaga's "You and I" fever because it simply is one of her best songs. In fact, I don't even care so much for Lady Gaga anymore except, she did a good job with this song. So anyway, I'm back yet again. I've posted new photos up on my photo blog and you should go and check it out if you haven't yet! They're all school related and filled with pretty faces that I love. I've still been taking photos of random people on random days, so don't worry. I'm still very much intact with my photography side. Yey!

August 25-26, 2011: Sophomore retreat at the retreat house somewhere in Taytay, Rizal! :) Such an emotional and fun experience with my block mates. Realized so much about them and how and why they are. I love them to the last straw, 'cause they always got my back and I promise I have theirs.

August 27, 2011: Had one of those random but meaningful talks with Kia after school while we waited for the rain to subside and for my driver to pick me up. The vending machine wasn't so nice to me that afternoon, so I gave my 20-peso bill to Kia instead. Haha!

Also went to the mall with my family that night then ate at Napoli. Will blog about that soon, too!

August 31, 2011: Day of reporting for our Principles of Audio-Visual Production class! We had the most bongga report I've ever seen, and it didn't even feel like reporting. Still so happy for my group for getting a really good grade on that report. Thank you to our block mates, our guest speakers, the maintenance from school, the people who we interviewed (Jason Magbanua being one of them!!) and of course our professor for helping make this one of the best things I've ever experienced! :)

September 7, 2011: U-Mag Press Conference and TV Commercial shoot! Spent the first half of the day at Jessica's place for lunch and the TVC and getting ready. Then headed to their studio for our press conference. Yes, press conference. Haha!

September 13, 2011: Random day with my dear block mates, Grace and Danica. We headed to school to test our DVDs for our PAVP class then hung-out at my place 'til it was time to leave for PEP practice. Picked up Liz, Teng and Karla from Moon Leaf, Katipunan. Ahhh, Hakka milk tea I need you.

September 17, 2011: Headed to Megamall with family for dinner and went dSLR-video window shopping. Ate at CAJUN which again, I will blog about soon! :)

September 18, 2011: Whooole day shoot for our project for our PAVP class! Did a debut video for our pseudo-debutant, Nadine Sagales (who was also our assistant director, by the way). We went to Indigo Salon for our first shoot, then to the church in White Plains for our second shoot (that wasn't included in the video), then to Fun Ranch for our third shoot, then to Nadine's place for our fourth and last shoot! Tell me if you want to see the video! :) It really is special and one of my favorite projects ever.

And the rest is history! We've just finished our Sports Fest last week and the Mass Communication society won 2nd place for the Cheerdance Competition! Yey! And our PEP Squad (which I'm proudly a part of) won "Most Supportive Cheering Squad"! All those nights of practice definitely paid off! Hoorah! Watch the routine here:

Uplate For An Update!

Corniest title ever, but I haven't blogged in awhile even though I feel like blogging almost every time. I just haven't had the energy nor the time lately since so many things are in my head. Just wanted to update you guys on some things that I've been up to!

Well, as some of you may know, I'm now part of a very talented creative team. It's made up of writers, models, and amateur photographers like myself. We're quite big compared to the teams I've seen, since there are six of us. We've put up a big advocacy which I'll be talking so much more about this week since we're launching our Facebook page in a few days! We're really excited about all of it 'cause it's something that we didn't expect to be so big - we were simply planning a shoot then ended up starting an advocacy, which we're very proud of. School has been pretty good. My minor subjects are slowly disappearing and my major subjects are kicking us pretty well. We stress over them (major subjects) so bad every week 'cause we're not so used to having so many of them. Well, they're only three but you catch my drift! I love them all though, except one of them causes us so much stress that we all feel like we'd die of fear every time we have that class. Aside from that, I'm beginning to enjoy my classes since we're getting so close to be real Mass Communication students with all the work we're doing. And I even got good recognition in one of my major classes and it feels so good to be recognized because of something that I love to do (writing). Oh, and we've been on already two class trips because of our major classes and they were both really good.

I also had a hiatus on my photo blog which was very disappointing. But now I've started to post every week! I've done it twice now and I think it's going pretty good. See, I've been making it a point to take photos as much as possible so at the end of the week, I compile them, edit then post them on my photo blog! I find it very comforting and fulfilling 'cause I feel guilty when I don't take as much photos anymore. So many things to take photos of, I feel like it all goes to such a waste when I don't have my camera with me. Also, I feel more motivated to bring my camera with me even if it's heavy because I feel like I'm putting so many people down when I don't post at the end of the week lol. I'm totally craving for a big shoot though, with models, props and so many clothes! Ah, heaven. I really want to have a shoot soon, when all the school stress dies down. There are so many things I want to do, but time and responsibilities prohibit me mostly. And I want to buy so many things but lack of money prohibits me from that, too. Hahaha! I'm so glad though that I finally had the energy or the drive to blog even just a little to update you guys! Thank you for continuing to view my blog, it is greatly appreciated. I'll update more 'cause I feel like I'm abandoning my blog which isn't really part of the memo.

Make Up, Make Up.

Last Friday, I was invited by my friend from grade school, Nicole Ceballos to her make up class graduation. I was really excited but at the same time really nervous. I haven't seen her since the fifth grade and we've only been contacting each other through Twitter, text, e-mail and we sometimes talk on her blog (which you should all check out, of course). So when I got there, I didn't talk much and I was too shy to take photos. But after awhile, I got the hang of it and took photos freely. Well, sort of. Nicole kept telling me to take photos of other models/artists but I was just too shy. Haha. I really have to work on my people skills.

The make up artists I met and observed last Friday at Cheryl Cabanos Makeup Academy are very talented and I'm really regretting right now that I didn't get to socialize with all of them more. Humongous thank you to my friend Nicole Ceballos for that afternoon and to the other artists who let me take photos of them and their models. I really can't wait to work with Nicole in my future shoots!

Day 27: It's The Place To Be At

Last week, I had no idea how to show you a photo of the city I live in. Yes, I'm a city girl and I'm so thankful for that. I love the city and it's noise, traffic and it's wonder. I like to think that Quezon City is the heart of Manila 'cause I think EVERYONE has been here or has even once, lived here. Another thing I love about Quezon City is that it's still full of trees despite the fact that they're growing more condominiums than the greens of nature.

The photos above don't really show Quezon City, it mostly shows the village I live in and a part of Rizal, I guess. My friend Kass brought me to this spot last Sunday when we had a shoot (I Want To Tell You That It's You).

Oh, Quezon City. I love you so.

HIIIIIIIIIIIII HI HI HI HI HI! I'm sorry I've been MIA in my blog for two days. I was supposed to make-up for the 21st yesterday but I got distracted (and okay, lazy). Let me tell you the story on why I've taken up an unplanned two-day hiatus! No, I haven't been to the beach or out of town. Don't worry, I have my reasons.

Last Thursday (April 21, day 21 for the challenge), as we Catholics know, it was Maundy Thursday (Fact: According to my family, I was born on Maundy Thursday!). It's actually one of my favorite days of the year 'cause when I was growing up we always participated in Visita Iglesia with our family friends (we visit seven churches) and we always started somewhere in the city 'til we got to Tagaytay! That used to happen every time we do Visita Iglesia. Now though, we STILL haven't stopped doing Visita Iglesia, but we've stopped going to far away places. This year we started near the airport first since we brought my mom there (she's in Turkey now with two women boxers and a coach for a tournament) then we ended in Quezon City. Thanks to my sister and to Tweetitow, here's a list of the churches we visited:

When we got home around dinner time, I was so tired that I was REALLY close to completely forgetting about the challenge. I really wanted to write but I was so tired and lazy and knowing that my laptop was discharged got me down. So I promised myself that I'd do the challenge the next day but oops, I also have my reasons for yesterday!

Yesterday (Friday, April 22, day 22 of the challenge), was day 1 without my mom and only my mom. We're used to not having my dad around or both of them, but not really my mom. My dad, my sister and I went to the cemetery to visit my grandparents (dad's parents) 'cause it was my Anma (lola)'s birthday last March. We stayed there for awhile then prayed then we headed off to my lolo's (mom's dad) house where my cousins live and picked up Baby Gab! Gab is my oldest cousin's baby who's only nine months old. We love to pick him up and let him sleepover once in awhile 'cause he's such a cutie pie. Again, thanks to my sister and to Twitter pictures, here's a photo from last night:

So that's why I was distracted - 'cause my sister needed help for taking care of the baby and we were trying really hard to calm him down. He's a growing kid and he's starting to familiarize people and I guess he was shocked to be in a different environment with different people last night. Today though, we left early to go to my dad's office which is the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines gym in Manila. Gab came with us and he had lots of fun watching the boxers train. He was laughing and laughing!

After training, we hung-out and had Jollibee delivered for breakfast then headed home. So that is now the reason why I am explaining all of this to you now! I hope you guys forgive me for not blogging on the 21st and 22nd!

Day 11: I need a life.

Hiii all! Had a shoot with my best friend Trixie today at her village. It was fun but I was such a downerrr! We had three concepts ('cause her outfits were totally different from each other) but it turned into two 'cause I suddenly felt down! Then Trixie did, too. SEE HOW CONTAGIOUS I AM?!

Day 11: Favorite TV shows

What's the best thing I love doing with my family? BUM AROUND. I love it when it's a lazy weekend and we pop in a DVD (whether they're a series or a movie), my sister and I put the extra bed on the floor of my parents room, then we turn on the air conditioner then we just hang-out there and eat some popcorn. It's the best feeling to just hang-out with your family. So like I said, we love to watch series. If we don't watch it together, we usually pass it around the house. We like to share everything here, ya know?

I used to love Grey's Anatomy, but now, I'd rather watch a corny variety show than watch GA. Now only my sister and my mom are (so, so, so, so, SOOOO) hooked to the show. My dad's not into that kind of drama. My dad LOVES comedy.

Here are some of the shows we love to watch together or pass around the house though:

How I Met Your Mother is one of the most awesome shows EVER.

My number one favorite TV show is FRIENDS, though.

I can watch it over and over (DVD) for a month.

I promise I'm not kidding.

Who doesn't love Glee? I end my case.

I've heard this from friends before,

but I really got hooked to the show because of my sister.

I've only watched the first season though (loser i know)

and that was more than a year ago but I loooove them!

Probably late last year or early this year,

I fell in love with Two and a half Men.

It's really funny. Too bad Charlie Sheen's busy winning.

Recently my friend Liz introduced me to Modern Family,

the same time I introduced her to Skins. We got hooked

to both series, thank goodness I met Liz. Haha!
