1. I spent almost my ENTIRE day with my sister, which is a really, really great thing.
2. Then I went to the mall with my sister AND my dad which happens rarely so it was great.

Just want to say how thankful I am that I've finally ended this challenge. I really love that I started this and ended it at the right time. Although I was getting lazy towards the end, writing up things for the challenge was always something to look forward to. I promise not to stop blogging, I'll probably blog once or twice a week from now on or whenever I have something to blog about and I promise to TRY not to have those month-long hiatuses anymore!

To whoever's reading this, thank you so much. Whoever you are, you've made me really happy and I just want to say that I blog for a reason - not only for my benefit but also because I want to write for YOU! Day 29: I Believe in Prayers More Than Wishes.

Day 29: Wishes

Ever since maybe two years ago, I stopped believing in wishes - 11:11, shooting star, and all those other "methods". Wishing is good, and hoping even better, but prayers are the best. Plus, as the biggest bum on earth, I truly believe that wishes won't come true if you don't make them come true. But for all my love for the thirty day challenge, here are my current wishes:

• Since I've been working hard on my photography nowadays (insert chos here), some of my friends have been saying that they'll recommend me to their parents, friends and all that jazz. I'm wishing it will all come true and work out, 'cause I'm really serious about my photography.
• I wish Monday would come sooner. :( My mom's in Turkey right now for a championship (for the boxers) and she's coming home on Monday, so I really wish it comes sooner.
• I wish my family in the States (especially my two sisters, my nephew and my sister's husband) comes home to the Philippines soon. I haven't seen them in over a decade. But because God is Great and has granted us with the internet including social networks and e-mail, we keep in touch all the time. :)

• I wish I can work with the best Filipino bloggers and photographers I've been following. I love them so much, I might cry of happiness when I get to work with any of them.
• I wish my second year of college will kick ass!

• I wish all my projects would continue being good, and accelerate to being great and I could die with one of my works being the best.
• I wish we could all make mistakes and just stop making the same ones.
• I wish that natural disasters would just stop happening.
• I wish people would wake up from their fairy tales and realize that the world will only end if we don't work together to letting it live!
• I wish I can pay my parents and my sister back for all that they've done for me - this is something I really want to make happen in the future.

Last week, I had no idea how to show you a photo of the city I live in. Yes, I'm a city girl and I'm so thankful for that. I love the city and it's noise, traffic and it's wonder. I like to think that Quezon City is the heart of Manila 'cause I think EVERYONE has been here or has even once, lived here. Another thing I love about Quezon City is that it's still full of trees despite the fact that they're growing more condominiums than the greens of nature.

The photos above don't really show Quezon City, it mostly shows the village I live in and a part of Rizal, I guess. My friend Kass brought me to this spot last Sunday when we had a shoot (I Want To Tell You That It's You).

Oh, Quezon City. I love you so.

My dream wedding? Really? I've actually told most of my friends that I'm not really into the thought of marriage, but now I'm having second thoughts. "'wag kang mag-salita ng patapos." I don't know how to translate it but it's what my friend told me when I told her I don't want to get married.

Thank you again, Google.

Dream wedding? I'm not good in describing, but I'd want to have my wedding in a church, not a big one. Just an ordinary church, maybe like our village church, Christ the King. I went to a wedding last January, and I learned that not everyone goes to the wedding itself, just the reception. I'd want to look beautiful in a simple wedding dress, like Monica Geller's (F.R.I.E.N.D.S) first wedding dress. The one she had to give up to get the Swing Kings. I like her second wedding dress too, though:

I also want to have very simple make-up on, 'cause I want to look as simple, natural and most beautiful as I can be. Anyway, this guy's going to be with me for the rest of my life, he has to get used to seeing me as natural as possible, right? I used to think I didn't want the ordinary wedding march, but I think it would be vintage and cool to stick to it. It would be really touching to have "Marry Me" by Train playing too, 'cause it'd be vintage by that time too.

I want both of my parents to walk me down the aisle and I want my sister (Kaka) to be my maid of honor. Life is perfect 'cause I three sisters (best friends) so they're perfect for being my brides maids.

Ever since I heard personal wedding vows, I knew from then on that I always wanted to have my vows to be like that too. I love God and the vows from church but I want to be able to tell the man I will love everything I feel, thankful for and what I'm looking forward to with him in front of God, my family and my friends.

Grr, this challenge makes me want to get married.

Day 24: Oh, life.

Day 24: Something you've learned

Yesterday I had no idea on what to write for the 24th day and when I did think of something, I realized that I wasn't really in the mood to write it. I guess it's because I get moody or feel like I'm so mighty when I write things like that and I just wasn't in the mood to be like that yesterday. Odd, but I guess if you read my blogs often you can definitely tell that I'm pretty much an odd person.

In my early years, I learned that 1 + 1 = 2, and then a little later I learned that Physics is one of the hardest subjects known to mankind. Aside from those academic subjects, I learned a little something from life too, as cheesy as that sounds. I've been learning and still learning. One of my most favorite teachers who was my Debate mentor and English teacher (for five straight years) in high school always loved to say this phrase that I always found weird and annoying at times:

"Oh, well. That's life."

It doesn't really mean taking life for granted, but I take it as saying that there are some things in life that you can't change. Maybe it means that there are some things you can't change, but maybe you can change yourself? I don't know. It's something I'm still trying to get and maybe when I see him next time, I'll bring it up.

Another thing I learned from life is that staying still won't bring you anywhere. And lingering on the past also won't lead you to the present. I guess life has it's lessons that you learn randomly or something. Ugh, I don't know what I'm saying anymore. I really don't think I'm fit to do this post right now. Sorreh!

It's weird, but my version (which I got from the Internet) of the 30-day challenge repeated Day 7's topic: Favorite movies for Day 23. So I searched for a different version of Day 23 and found this.

Day 23: Something you crave for a lot

Is it just me or these challenges really aren't specific? Anywho, let me tell you my cravings!

Place: Beach! I love the beach. If not the beach, the busy city. Or the mall! I love going around anywhere - whether it be near or far.

Food: Japanese food, Chinese food, ice cream, frozen yogurt.

Activity: Day or night out with friends,hang-out with family, writing, photo shoots and road trips.

I got my purse from Payless (yes, the shoe store) for P469.00 (from P800.00!!!) two weeks ago. I've been wanting to buy a bag for months and I wanted one that I could use for when I have shoots. I already have one but I also wanted a new bag that isn't a sling/mail bag (my favorite kind of bags). I love it because it's not really my kind of bag so it's something new. I use it all the time now 'cause it's so purrdy and everything I need fits in it.

I'm so happy that I finally got to do a WIYP post! Call me shallow, but it's because I've always been inspired by the following WIYP posts I've seen (click on their names):

• Patricia Ramos, my favorite teenage photographer: This was the first WIYP post that I ever saw and loved.

I love bags and all their beauty. I think they're somewhat like our clothes, 'cause I think they can actually say what kind of person you are. ESPECIALLY the contents of our bags!!!

Voices in Harmony

There's always a story behind everything, and the story of this photo is one of my favorites.

Back in high school, I was part of my school's first ever chorale. In my second and last year as part of the chorale, I was made president. It was so stressful but very worth it. There wasn't a lot of responsibilities except to remind people of their responsibilities and all, but it was very fulfilling to be part of the chorale that year. It was the first time we ever really called each other family. We were actually High School Musical 'cause the some of the boys were part of the basketball varsity and the some of the girls (including myself) were part of the volleyball varsity. Half our afternoon would be for the chorale and the other half for varsity training.

That year, like the year before, we joined the chorale competition called Voices in Harmony, it's where a lot of schools join to show who's the best. The year before, we weren't even close to the next level of the competition. That year though, with all our love and hard work, our conductor (Mrs. May Bernabe) exited the stage and into the lobby of the venue, crying after our performance. We all knew why instantly - our performance was so beautiful. We all cried and hugged each other 'cause we really felt that all our hard work finally paid off. We still didn't get to the next level although most of the judges gave us high scores (I think. I don't remember.) It's okay though, because it was really a great day nonetheless.

I took this photo with my conductor before the performance, while we were still in the waiting area. Sorry for the crop! I love this photo 'cause it reminds me of how HAPPY I was... I had problems and I had so many thoughts going through my mind but at that moment, I was just happy to be with the people around me.

I'm not totally photogenic, they say I was more photogenic when I was younger. I don't think I can be one of those model/photographer people like a lot of people are now. I'm more of a behind the camera person, I guess.

My whole name is Karissa Elora Jose Picson and from that, my parents got Bambam. I'm known as Bambam by very few people, mostly family. Actually the only ones who really call me Bambam are my family, my best friend Arielle and some of her friends who she's introduced me to. I love my name Bambam - it sounds so happy.

I started grade school known as Karissa but my second grade class adviser changed everything! When she did attendance during our first day in class, she loved my second name saying that it was unique and pretty. She asked permission from me, asking if it was okay to call me Elora instead of Karissa and I said yes 'cause I felt sort of special. My class mates started calling me Elora and I've been known as Elora ever since. Actually now that I'm older, even my parents and my sister would introduce me to colleagues as Elora sometimes. I always thought that it was unique but then I found out there were more Elora's in the city. SAD. I still prefer to think it's unique, though.

My last nickname which now a lot of people call me is the HARDEST to spell: E. E as in the letter E. It started when Hannah and I got addicted to Gossip Girl when it was just new. We loved how Blair and Serena called each other B and S so we wanted to try it out, but we ended up just calling me E. From there, my closest friends in high school started calling me E, and sometimes they'd actually shout "E!!!!" across the room, class room, canteen... Wherever. In college, I told one of my buddies about it and then she started calling me E. Now also some people from my class calling me E. I love being called E, because again, I find it unique to be the only one known as E in class or whatever. Plus, it sounds so young and I don't even know why!

There are countless things that I miss, really. It's impossible to name just one. You know, we're not that old to be missing so many things but we can't stand a chance in a fight against time.

I graduated from Benedictine International School of Quezon City (which we call Bene for short). It's really small and everybody knows everybody. It was a big change from Miriam College (my school before Bene) but since every year there's someone new, you're not the only one trying to cope up with everything and everyone else. When we were in Bene though, we always complained about everything; from teachers, to classmates, to facilities, etc. But now, man do I miss nothing more than that school. It's the place where I met the people who I learned only the best from, may they be mistakes or whatever. I love my school and I miss it so much especially now in college where I'm meeting so many people who are totally different from the people who I used to be with every single day of every single month of every single year for five years (sixth grade to fourth year high school).

Who doesn't miss being a baby? I miss being a baby in a way that I wish I was back to being a simple girl with no bad thoughts and everything is just happy and dandy. Life isn't like that, though; you can't just pretend that everything's okay when it's not. So I grew up and I'm still facing that fact - I mean, aren't we all? Wait, when was this turned sad? Scraaaatch that sad vibe. For real though, don't you just miss going outside your house, running around with your friends for no reason at all? Your parents bringing home gifts for you just because they felt like it? Oh, how I love my childhood. I want it back sometimes!

These are the two things that I really truly miss the most right now (and the beach). <3

I'm a sucker for Italian food. I found out about Bigoli through my best friend, Hannah. They have really good pasta (hello, my biggest weakness is pesto - green) and I can not explain my love for their all-cheese pizza. It is the most heavenly pizza I've ever eaten. I may be over acting but HAVE YOU TASTED THEIR PIZZA?! No? Then you're definitely missing out. Also, everyone who goes to Bigoli treats their bread sticks like it was KFC's gravy. Their garlic bread sticks are totally awesome. It's not so expensive in Bigoli, compared to other Italian restaurants, by the way. Whenever my family and I are in TriNoma or SM Annex and we can't decide on where to eat, we go to Bigoli.

Greek food's awesome too. My family and I discovered Cyma three or two years ago in TriNoma and we really loved it. The place is always full because they really serve good food. We love ordering their Saganaki (doesn't it sound Japanese?) and they serve it in a sizzling pan thing together with a shout of "WHOPA!" - it always amuses everyone in the restaurant and the people who pass by. We also love ordering hummus (which we eat also in the house 'cause my mom loves making it). My dad once ordered their Greek version of Chicken Adobo and I loved it, which is why I chose Cyma for my birthday dinner 'cause I craved for the dish!

Day 16: One day!

Good evening, everyone! I spent the afternoon with my sister today, going to the mall and eat. Really fun spending time with my sister. We don't get to hang-out just the two of us so much anymore 'cause she's so busy with work and she just got home from a four-day vacation with her high school buddies!

Day 16: Dream house

I have a dream HOUSE in a subdivision and I have a dream APARTMENT/CONDO in the city. I

If I'd still live in the Philippines when I start my career, I'd love to live in an apartment in Makati or Ortigas! Along New Manila wouldn't even hurt, far from Balete though, ples. And if I had to live outside the country, I'd love to live in New York or San Francisco, or London. I want a simple apartment/condominium, very modern. Perfect for one or two! I'm not good in describing things like these. Better yet, I'll show you floor plans! Did I ever tell you guys that I LOVE LOOKING AT FLOOR PLANS?

If I wanted to live in a house here in the Philippines though, I love my current house too much to leave it for another. My mom designed our house with all her love and I would love to live here forever if I had the chance. I always feel safe in my house! When I get married though, I want a house in the same subdivision or in another subdivision that's close to ours.

is architecturally correct. Here's my dream, though.

I even brought this to life when I played SIMS 2 and it was awesomeee! I even put in a room for a teenager and it was cool. I'd really want to live in a house/apartment/condo/whatever like this.

One day God will bless me and whether or not it will look like any of these designs, I know I will appreciate it because it came from Him! :)

I've been replying to my friends who viewed and I'm giving them cookies when we see each other, lol. I'm so proud 'cause they're perfect. Let me brag about baking, okay? I don't get to do it much. I'm also proud and happy 'cause I've been putting off baking for months now and FINALLY I did it! So, so proud. :)

Day 15: Bible verse

I have to be honest that I don't read the bible unless I have to for school. So I don't know a lot of bible verses, except for the 1 Corinthians verse that everyone knows about and my favorite bible story is when Jesus multiplied the fish and bread for everyone. That was awesome, 'cause it showed me how loving and caring Jesus is.

Back to the verse that I chose. I have to be honest that I had to search "bible verses" on Google just to find one for this post. I decided to use this one 'cause I've been feeling Him around me the past month, because I've been trying hard to be close to Him again. I guess when I turned into a teenager, I didn't only separate from my family, but also I guess from God because I took everything for granted when I was in high school.

Now that I'm growing up and I got a huge wake up call (attacks), I've realized how present God is in every situation. Now every time I do something, He's always in my mind and I TRY to do the best I can in avoiding anything that can hurt me, my family, my friends and my God. I've also realized how everything in life is connected and we should always remember that God gives us hardships to appreciate the good things more! That's why when something bad happens now, I try to think that something good will come out of it because I know there will be! :)

FIRST THINGS FIRST, new post on my photo blog!

What If You Drove Me Away shoot with Trixie Fuentes!

Hi! Today was really fun with Liz. I had my first U.P. shoot ever which has always been my dream! We had to go around U.P. first though to find the perfect spot for today. We settled in a place where there were very few people and not a lot of people kept passing by. We were freaked out at first 'cause the grass was full of insects and we barely saw the soil anymore. So I SCREAMED when I thought something lifted from the grass, but it was only a log that I stepped on. I felt soooo bad but didn't talk about it. I didn't even realize that I did it. HAHAHA Liz was like, "Uy, Elora 'wag kang maingay!" I freaked, okay! I freaked.

By the middle though, we got used to the uncut grass, the insects and the missing soil. We had fun with the location and I'd go back there just to hang with my friends any day! I'd want to go back to U.P. for anything actually. More shoots there, please? As in MORE.

Can't post a teaser tonight, though. We had a thousand outtakes and it's for a contest Liz is joining so I'd have to wait for her to send out the photos before I post anything on my blogs and my Facebook. I will share them by the end of the month though, I'm sure!

Day 13: Goals

I have a lot of goals, but I haven't really differentiated goals from wants yet. Here are some that I have in mind though:

1. As a photographer, my goal is to be recognized as a professional one. For the past few months I've been trying to figure out what kind of photographer I want to be and lately I've noticed how my interest in fashion has been growing. So as of now, I think I want to be a fashion photographer. Especially because I've been having shoots that focus mainly on clothes. It's fun 'cause I go to Lookbook.nu a lot now for inspiration on concepts and fashion.
2. As a writer, my goal is to be an editor-in chief someday. Or a successful writer of a magazine or a published author. I have so many things in my mind and ideas that I want the world to know and I know that through my writing, I can spread these ideas!
3. As a student, MY GOAL IS TO GRADUATE COLLEGE AT THE RIGHT TIME. Yes, that would be heaven!

These are my goals that are on the top of my head right now. I'm really not sure about the difference between want and goal is though. Might look it up tomorrow, for tomorrow will be an idle day! Nah, I'm bakin' tomorrah!

Day 12: Hello there!

Today was fun. Last night, Arielle was desperate to watch a concert of a friend and I volunteered to go with her. She said she wasn't sure 'cause she already made other plans with her cousins. This afternoon though, she called and told me to get ready, so apparently we were really going to the concert. It was an adventure and it was really fun 'cause her sister Jasmine came along and it felt good to hang with the people who I grew up with. The afternoon was full of laughs and stories, it was so awesome. I love them! Here's day 12 for you. :)

Day 12: Something you don't leave the house without

I don't think kids nowadays can leave the house without their cell phones. Actually, even my parents can't leave the house with their phones. Here's my phone:

I got my phone for free when I got the plan. I love how easy it is to use and how soft the keypads are. I've dropped this phone for so many times already and nothing's happened. Yesss! It's the phone that helped me move on from my Nokia E63 that I lost a few months ago. My mom gave me her BlackBerry but it's really complicating to charge so I don't use it anymore. Plus, this phone's so much easier to use than that BlackBerry. I don't like BlackBerries so much.

iPod Touch, third generation, 32 gig.

THIS IS NOT MINE. This is my dad's iPod Touch, but ever since he got his iPhone, he hasn't used it much anymore. Especially because I got it and never gave it back anymore. It's not mine, but since I have it with me all the time, I bring it with my everywhere. It's really handy 'cause I put my lessons for school, I play games when I'm bored and when I'm too lazy to turn on the laptop it's what I use to keep up with things online. Like I said, it's not mine so the songs are still my dad's. In fact, when I was in the parlor the other day waiting for my mom, it's where I started the story I'm writing and I managed to write a whole page. Yey!

So there, those are the two things I choose not to leave the house without.

Day 11: I need a life.

Hiii all! Had a shoot with my best friend Trixie today at her village. It was fun but I was such a downerrr! We had three concepts ('cause her outfits were totally different from each other) but it turned into two 'cause I suddenly felt down! Then Trixie did, too. SEE HOW CONTAGIOUS I AM?!

Day 11: Favorite TV shows

What's the best thing I love doing with my family? BUM AROUND. I love it when it's a lazy weekend and we pop in a DVD (whether they're a series or a movie), my sister and I put the extra bed on the floor of my parents room, then we turn on the air conditioner then we just hang-out there and eat some popcorn. It's the best feeling to just hang-out with your family. So like I said, we love to watch series. If we don't watch it together, we usually pass it around the house. We like to share everything here, ya know?

I used to love Grey's Anatomy, but now, I'd rather watch a corny variety show than watch GA. Now only my sister and my mom are (so, so, so, so, SOOOO) hooked to the show. My dad's not into that kind of drama. My dad LOVES comedy.

How I Met Your Mother is one of the most awesome shows EVER.

My number one favorite TV show is FRIENDS, though.

I can watch it over and over (DVD) for a month.

I promise I'm not kidding.

Who doesn't love Glee? I end my case.

I've heard this from friends before,

but I really got hooked to the show because of my sister.

I've only watched the first season though (loser i know)

and that was more than a year ago but I loooove them!

Probably late last year or early this year,

I fell in love with Two and a half Men.

It's really funny. Too bad Charlie Sheen's busy winning.

Recently my friend Liz introduced me to Modern Family,

the same time I introduced her to Skins. We got hooked

to both series, thank goodness I met Liz. Haha!

Who has watched Skins and did not fall in love?

I also love the cinematography of Skins. They're perfect.

So there! Go watch these shows, I'm sure you'll fall in love the same way I have. :) Then again, you might turn into bums like me. So... Watch with caution.

Day 10: My God is bigger than my fears.

Not really in the mood to blog 'cause I'm currently writing a story, after so long. So I'm making this real quick. Love you, guys!

Day 10: Something you're afraid of

My biggest fear right now are my panic attacks. I've still been having them because I've been so idle since the start of summer so I think so much about so many things. Remember last night, when I told you guys I had a head ache? Well it's because I think so much about things that I shouldn't even be thinking about. I'm very normal though, in fact I don't think the people who know I used to have them know that I still have them.

Ever since my most stressful month ever, I guess I've had a liking for being busy now. So whenever I am idle or when I'm just plain bored, I get these things in my mind that aren't good.

I pray all the time, though. I talk to God when I get scared so I can gain strength to fight my attacks. Really good feeling though because I've had progress, thank you to God, my family and my friends.
